rear park assist doesn't work chirps intermittently,

I read all the threads that I could find on rear park assist. I did learn that there is a radar sensor in addition to the two in the bumper. I did not know that the car even had this feature until I have heard mine chirp a time or two when backing up with the radio on. It does not work as described, sometimes it chirps when close to something when you put the car in reverse, but not when you are backing up.

Is there a troubleshooting procedure/write up posted anywhere for this?
