Real 95 Cobra R on ebay!

Rare? Yes..But I'd rather have a diff car for 20k+. Guess you'd have to be into that sorta thing.

But hey, if I had 20k and found a mint, low mile, modded to the max g2 lsc i'd buy it, others would prob wonder wtf is wrong with me as well..

It's pretty awesome. But I have become spoiled. I like my comfy power seats, power windows, power this and that, A/C, and my radio. If I could have that car with all the bells and whistles, I'd go for it. But as awesome as that car is, it's just a trailer queen. It'll probably never really see any road miles. And I couldn't drive it on the road without worrying about some no drivin' doofus T-boning it or something. I much prefer our loaded '96 Cobra convertible. It's just about as fast as the '95 R and has leather and all the power goodies. And its got Cobra R wheels. So it'll do nicely.

Damn I was gOnna say i didn't like it cause no power windows

It does not have that stuff because it is supposed to be a factory race car. All that power chit adds weight. And there is no way a 96 cobra that is stock is anywhere near as fast. Especially a drop top. They are even heavier. I wish you could order a mustang with nothing but the gt500 motor and no heat ac or power anything. A fuel cell and no back seat would be sweet too.

1995 Cobra R had a pushrod 351-W with 300hp. 1996 Cobra had a 4.6L (281) DOHC V-8 with 305hp. The 4.6 has more power, but the 351-W had more torque. And the R weighed less. Thus it would do 0-60 in about 4.5 seconds and the quarter in the low 13's at over 110mph. The '96-'98 Cobra could do 0-60 in about 5.5. seconds (converts being slightly slower at around 5.7-5.9 depending on sources) and the quarter in the high 13's at over 100mph. Nothing to sneeze at. I said "just about as fast". A second slower counts as "just about as fast". I've personally clocked our '96 'vert at approximately 5.5 seconds (YouTube vid coming soon) with my wife in the passenger seat with a stopwatch (since I couldn't shift gears and hold the stopwatch at the same time:D). Not 100% accurate, but it works for me. Now if it took 7 or 8 seconds to get to 60, that would be an issue. That's a damn fast little car. And they get faster with more mileage. I'll guarantee our 50K mile '96 Cobra is several tenths of a second quicker than it was when new. And we all know the R was a factory race car. That's why all the goodies were deleted to save weight. That's all well and good. And if one wants a stripped down car, more power to him. I'm not one who would prefer that. I like my bells and whistles. That's just me. I've had my fill of stripped down cars. And I don't want another one. I like luxury and convenience. To each his own.

I want to do a rear seat delete in the mark. Make it look good at the same time, much like that of this mustang.

its nice but only way i'd pay over 20k for a mustang is a new one. and thats not an everyday driver no matter who you are, no heat/ac/ no power anything, thats a weekend warrior imo. its a cool car don't get me wrong, but like thaywood said, i'd want all the bells and whistles. thats like having a mark 8 with cloth seats and the shifter right behind the steering wheel like trucks. i love having all leather in the car, when im in the back seat alone going somewhere like jersey, i lay down and go to sleep its that comfortable. mark8s - comfort, luxury and power all at once. mustangs are bumpy rides, and power -- but thats what they're meant for. just my .02
