Guys, for some reason, from time to time the rear of the car is sitting at a different height. Sometimes its about an inch higher in the back than normal, but most of the time it sits fine.

This only happens with the car on, once I get out and turn it off it goes back to normal. Its as if the compressor is pumping up the rear more than its should sometimes.

Any clue? dead spot in the sensor?

Also, is it possible to lower the rear sensor without the lift? Need I take off the tire?

Thank you.

I would check the sensor, make sure its tight.
You can get at it without a lift with the tire on.

Maybe a vent solenoid stuck ?

Compressor is new, from Eddie. No complaints there. I am at a loss here.
And its not just one side, both sides in the back. So sometimes its rides nice and low, and sometimes it looks like its jacked up a bit. Every time that happens, I say to myself I should lower the back one of these days, next day
it is back to normal and sitting nice and normal ( low).

No leaks in the system.

It sounds like a sensor issue seeing how its both sides.
I would get under it and check it.
Mine slams the rear when parked once and a great while I have no idea why I just live with it.
It never happens when the air ride is shut off.

There's only one sensor for the rear. Ford nut, my '98 does the same thing. It will stay up for weeks. If you lean on it, it slams down in the rear. I hear a hiss from the driver's bag. It will be replaced soon.

Yep, one sensor controls the rear height, so if both bags go down I would look at the sensor.
Never had one apart.

Just lowered mine last summer, its easy to get to.
