Is the alarm going off randomly one of the indicators of a bad battery? it's been doing it the last couple days and I have both remotes. I didn't even set the alarm or lock the doors today and it's went off twice now.

Thats the way mine went. Battery also went dead at times, not all the time. Check battery connectins first. You can take battery to most auto centers and they will load test it for free. I took mine and and test came back failed. Mine did that for about a year. Put in new battery 6 months ago and no problems since.

Another sign is if your cluster needles do a prove-out when you go to start it.

Funny, we've had rain on and off for the last couple days and the alarm kept going off. Yesterday it didn't do it once, dry and sunny all way. I think it's humidity related and wonder where the corrosion is.

Check the battery terminals and the negative where it connects to the car body.

I finally got some time to tinker with the LS. Pulled the battery cables loose on both ends and everything looked fine. I did smear some anti-oxide grease on the bare metal before reassembling it. I put a dollop on the terminals of the relays and fuses in the rear box as well. One of the terminals on one relay was dull gray but everything else was clean and shiny.

Once the car was started back up I was able to turn on the rear defrost without the radio reception buzzing out. Hopefully some of the other bugs will go away as well.

I'll check into the battery thing on my '08 TC because it started blowing the horn in the wee hours and I'm thinking if it continues that the neighbors are starting to hate me.
