So about a month ago (only had ls for about a month) my radio kept muting and unmuting....annoying the heck outta me but only did it the one day on the way to work..a lil at lunch and then stopped....never thought of it again...but then this morning the demon came back....muting and unmuting....annoying the crap outta me once again!!
Has anyone heard or had this problem before??
Easy fix or complete radio change??
Thanks for the help!!

thanks guys....airbag light has been on since I have owned the car (2 months)...so a pretty good inclination?
lol

Do some more searches. There is deinitely a DIY somewhere on here. Remivng the steering wheel is simple and about a 10-15 minute job at most. Torx bits on the side of the column release the airbag, large nut in center of steering wheel releases the steering wheel (may need a large rubber mallet to whack the BACK of the steering wheel a couple times to free it from the splines) and the clockspring is right there looking at you.

Get a black marker to mark the exact splines when you remove the steering wheel, so that you can put the wheel back on in the exact position it came off..or else you may get a cocked steering wheel

I'm pretty sure one of the ribs is bigger than the others which prevents the streering wheel from going on any to the left or right. Could be wrong though

Yeah. That Clockspring controls quite a bit of stuff..including everything associated with the steering wheel controls (stereo and cruise control). Possibly more..

Yep the clockspring

Take your time to repair, be careful, unhook battery, wait 10 minutes before disconnecting the airbag! We don't want a broken nose do we....:D
