Which engine 2.4t or T5 because I know you can't beat T5 with stock Mark VIII.My friend has 1999 S80 T6 and it's faster than stock mark VIII from dig or roll.

Im really not sure, it looked like a 2000+ but it had a body kit on it and it was dark so i couldnt really see, plus im not much of a volvo enthusiast. It was a nice little race, downhill down the onramp to I 95, he pulled away real quick until we got to about 80 and I just flew by and all I saw was his reflection. He wasnt interested in another go on the I either.

I am not a Volvo enthusiast either but my brother-in-law has S80 T6(inline 6 with twin turbo) and last year we went to race track on a very hot day and he run 14.7 @ 97mph spinning first and second gear so I think on a good day with better traction it could run low to mid 14's which is a little better than stock mark VIII.

I used to work at a Volvo dealer, fun times. Big smokey burn outs on the PDI drive, and a quick run through the car wash to remove the evidence

Everytime I hear, "Race a car... beat it when we hit 80." I roll my eyes.
It's not that I don't think you can beat a regular S60, but the claim is just so hollow.

"Raced a new Challenger.... beat it when we hit 120."
Really? Did you beat it, or did the guy just decide to back off when you started hitting dangerous or conspicuously high speed?

Just sharing the race with other mark viii drivers. Dont get all bent out of shape, I think most v8s would be pulling off after the take off when racing a small 4turbo.

i dont think calabrio is bent out of shape just stating that the other guy could of got out of it when you "won"

I had a 4 banger mustang SVO & Thunderbird turbo coupe, I must say that both of those cars with very minimal exhaust work & the boost set at 18 psi would have & did whip Mark VIII's. The mark pulls pretty good on the highway but those little 4 bangers pulled harder under boost.

I have never raced a volvo so I wouldn't know what to expect. I would guess that they are fairly quick though.
