Quick question. In a jam. Degas bottle

If you're looking at the bottle from the front of the car, there are two openings for a coolant hose. Which one gets the coolant hose, the one with the metal piece inside or rear one. Putting my car back together after months of it being down and I cam remember. Thanks.

The one with the metal tube inside. The other one shouldn't be open. It's just a stub to attach the heater air bleed.

Everything is back together finally. Question, is it normal for the fan to increase speed when the throttle is increased. When I hit the gas, she sounds like a B-52, but as I let off, the fan dies down somewhat.

Not that I've noticed on gen II. I'm not sure about gen I.
