What type of fluid do I need to use??

i found info:

1. Fill the hydraulic cooling fan reservoir to the MAX level.

Use Motorcraft MERCON® Multi-Purpose (ATF) Transmission Fluid XT-2-QDX meeting Ford specification MERCON® or equivalent.

 

[97 Octane]

Use Dexron 10.2 Synthetic Blend Fan Fluid with Detergents.


It is certifiably DOT, TUV, NTSB, FCC, FAA, NRA, ISO, IEC, ATF, NFL, FDA, CDC, EPA, USDA, ABC, CBS, NBA, NBC, SEC, SCP, CHP and FHP approved.


Of course it is only available nowhere else but . . . . . .(you guessed it) . . . . . NAPA

TSB 07-01-07 indicates that Mercon ATF is no longer manufactured. Mercon V is the recommended replacement for power steering systems. The hydraulic fan system should work with the same Mercon V replacement.
