So I have the Xcal 4 from Torri and am using the "aggressive" tune and I had a few questions...

I know that disconnecting the battery for 15ish minutes allows the trans to relearn shift patterns and such. I understand that disconnecting the battery doesn't clear the tune, but if I currently have a tune loaded, does disconnecting the battery do anything or when I reconnect the battery does the tune "automatically take over" and the car is set from that tune, meaning it never "relearns." OR after disconnecting the battery, will the trans still relearn but also implement shift pressure and such from the tune?

Ford has used adaptive learning for a LONG time. The car should learn your driving style and adapt to it some. I'm not sure what unhooking the battery does to the LS.

Mine with the tune performs fine with the exception of some shift juggling at 35 or so. What is your complaint about the transmission?

the tune will not be affected by disconnecting the battery, the only thing that will happen will be it having to relearn your driving style, if your tune had the shift pressure cranked up, it will still have the higher shift pressure, it just need to make a few adjustment to itself based on how you drive the car...

so pretty much this
will the trans still relearn but also implement shift pressure and such from the tune?

As far as aggressive tuning, its not a great idea to run that 24/7. Depends on Torri I suppose. I use a Rob Aggressive, custom built from SP Sully's 01 LS. Its bloody hell marry when I stomp the throttle, but I should only run this on track day. I run Robs econo tune 24/7
Did Torri say its safe to run that Tune 24/7?

Also one last thing, tunes are known to cause vehicles to fail emissions. You should return to stock and drive for a day before emissions test.

Torrie isn't exactly forthcoming in regards to information about his tunes. I'm hoping that running the aggressive tune is ok otherwise I would hope it would have included a "disclaimer" of some sort - anyone been running the aggressive tune for a while?

If it's not "safe" I'll switch to performance, but don't have much interest in the economy tune.

EDIT: Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't Torrie's tunes have a limit? Like I can't just switch from tune to tune every other day? Perhaps I misread this, but I thought I was allotted 5 "changes" which kinda sucks but I can't do anything about it.

Thats not how it works.
You can flash the vehicle with as many tunes as you like. Ive done it by now... 10 times or so. The Xcalibrator is Locked to the PCM of the car. You have to actually tell the Xcal to unlock itself, its in the settings. I use an Xcal 2.

The changes means car to car. Just don't unlock the tuner, simply select "Return to stock" when you do emissions. Or you can just Flash a different tune any day of the week.
One thing I am uncertain is how it would effect your car if you flashed it every week lol
I was told by Rob not to run the aggressive 24/7. But thats Robs tunes.

I would just ask torrie if (in his opinion) his aggressive tune is recommended for daily driving or if it is more of a track only tune.

hes not going to go into a lot of details with what changes his tuning does, but he better be able to at least answer that for you.

how hard are the shifts? does it chirp the tires on upshifts? real hard shifts? if the shifts are not too hard that it should be fine

was it tuned to run a specific grade of fuel, or still just 91+
