if you already have a custom exhaust, and you need to replace the cats, then you will defenitly want high flowcats. not to mention aftermarket high flow cats cost a lot less than OEM cats

I was told by a Magnaflow engineer that the LS already has a high flow cat. He told me it wasn't worth the cost.

As for replacement, try ebay. More......

Are the cats on the LS welded in? I'm just wondering if they can be swapped out in my garage or if I should bite the bullet and take it to a shop

Shop time.
Yup. If you're asking that particular question, it's time to let the professionals handle the job. No offense is intended--I'd be taking my car in to a shop for that job.

I know in my area I could get it done for around $60, you don't need to go to anywhere fancy. Just make sure there are no exaust leaks when they're done. I'd imagine its tricky getting the weld around the top part.
