Is it possible to simply swap out a OEM Navigation/Touch screen system with the Premium system which came in my car?

I can get a good deal on the unit and was wondering if it is as simple as plug and play.

If you're talking NAV replacing non-NAV then no. There are many threads on this.......

Actually it can be done as someone swapped the whole system into an 02.

is it really worth doing...no unless for some reason you want the outdated oem system.

Things you need at a minimum to add factory navigation are:
Nav head unit
Nav DVD drive unit (in trunk)
Sub-woofer amp (in trunk)
Four channel amp (in trunk)
Multiple wiring harnesses
GPS antenna

If you want voice control (factory systems have this) add:
Auto dimming mirror with factory microphone (used only on nav equipped cars)

If you want the steering wheel buttons to be labeled and work correctly add:
nav option steering wheel button assembly

If you want the full THX sound add:
THX door speakers (4) and subwoofers (2)

Yeah and all that stuff is over a grand unless you find a wrecked ls and pull everything from it.

Factory nav sucks anyways only reason i still have mine is because it came with the vehicle and i plan on getting aftermarket soon.

Let's not forget the $200 map updates, when they get around to doing another update. I think that the last one was 2008.
