Proof Of Hid Discontinued

[FTINMARKVIII]

I know somewhere on the site max z or other had posted that MARKVIII 1998 LSC hid's where discontinued by Osram Sylvannia and you cannot replace them, I need it it writing to submit to agent to prove they cannot be replaced, can anyone assist in my task. Have not located it in search as yet.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your inquiry.
Unfortunately, the DC, direct current HID lamps, type HID-9500, for
replacement on factory equipped HID MY96 to MY98 Lincoln Mark VIII
vehicles, were produced solely for Ford for these vehicles. This lamp
is no longer in production and has not been in production for quite some
time. We sold all remaining inventory to Lincoln and Ford Parts and
Service several years ago. The last we heard, Ford was looking to find
another lighting manufacturer who could supply enough of this part to
service future replacement requests.

The Lincoln Customer Assistance Center should be able to tell you where
you can obtain part HID-9500. They can be reached at (800) 521-4140.

Unity...that is exactly what he was looking for. I knew that letter existed somewhere. I hope that helps him. I do not have anything like that from ford!!

FTINMARKVIII are you asking so your insurance would cover the replacements?

Man, if that is true I wonder if I can get a set of tail lamps for my 65 T-Bird covered? They havent made those in 25 years....sigh....just hopeful...

Mind if I ask what the purpose is? Who needs proof that it's discontinued?

And you are aware of the halogen retrofit kit that Ford is producing, yes?

i dont know if ford uses a simular parts program as we do (acura), but it will say right on the screen "not avalible" and if we actually try to order it, it will actually say "dicontinued" im sure any ford dealer can print that screen for you.
