i like it... what kinda paint did you use and what is the code for it...and did you do any special prep work for the plastic woodgrain ashtray? also instead of a lincoln emblem what about the chrome Lincoln lettering

i wet sanded it all with 800 grit sand paper. the paint was a krylon fusion primer and krylon metallics ''platinum''. the stereo piece was the hardest part becuz i fiberglassed it. the lettering is wat i was talking about. but i cant find it small enough. i thought about putting the svt logo on there but i dont know

Perhaps you could fit the lincoln lettering from the rear of the vehicle into that space. Im sure they sell replacements through ford or maybe through an auto/body shop. another cool idea would be to get a vinyl made up at a sign shop with a signature (you, carrol shelby, dale earnhardt jr, etc...) or maybe a custom made logo with engine info (3.9 L V8, etc...)

looks good man... its funny though. i have my remote for my head unit velcroed to the same spot. same remote too.

i've seen the radio with the word "Lincoln" along the bottom of it.. it can fit.. should be done..

my question is this.. i have been thinking of doing this for a long time but i have a little problem that i just dont know how to get over.. how can i paint the steering wheel and the shift knob? any ideas?

grey ghost did his, but he sent them away and had them wrapped. thats an option if u wanna go that route

Well, you could always buy a wood shift knob, then sand, prime, and paint/stain it to match. You can dye leather, but, IIRC, most, if not all, stock LS leather shifters are black, so it's probably going to be difficult to dye.

I'm not sure about the plastic parts, but I'm pretty sure they can be dyed as well.

I would say you can paint the plastic pieces... the question is how long it will look good. Those two pieces are used quit often, the first time you wear a ring it will get scratched.

i will soon be wrapping my steering wheel and shifter in silver auto vinyl. should last awhile and its cheap to do so replacing it once a year shouldnt break the bank
