So I finally found a Black on Black Gen1 Im happy with so I will be starting the rebuild soon,

FinalLincoln2.jpg

Black Candy on all of the Chrome,
Black Candy on headlights/taillights
FBSS air supension
*possible* 20" smoothies/18 " smoothies
all LMS goodies.
5% tint all around 35% on the windshield.

Sounds cool. If you wanted to go a cheaper route with the tail light tint Ventshade makes a sprayable tine. I did it to my dakota, and it actually turned out pretty good. here is a pic.

that's the same thing pre-mixed. Except without the candy that he wants..

That ventshade stuff is just paint mixed with clear coat, which makes it transparent.

Well its a psuedo Candy.

I will be mixing pigment with Clear to get the same effect. Which IMHO works better then the actual Kandy from house of Kolors because thier candy fades and pigmenting actual clear has good UV protection. I did it with my Scion and I couldnt be more happy with the results 4 years later. (very little fade)

The downside to tinting clear like this is the loss of adhesion which is solved by a good adhesion promotor on plastic.

Also Alsa Corp has a product called Clear for Chrome which is also tintable and has the promotors built in. We have already test this out on a set of wheels and 2 years later they still look fresh out of the paint booth.

Yes the paint will be a satin black possibly, or maybe a high gloss black Im not sure yet.

The rendering is just an idea of what it can turn out like.
And 6 lug? why not..

Im actually torn right now, between navigator Wheels, or Jag XKR wheels

I have a local company that is willing to machine new hubs, and the rotors are solved easy with Bembo or Willwood hats.

The custom scene is about being different, so why not?

MarkVIII93 what looks "stoopid"?

Hey now. You mean AFTER you have new hubs machined, right? I was planning on machining the HATS.. then using a 14" viper rotor. Brackets would of course have to be fabbed. I suppose if brembo or willwood have hats, they're not for a 14" rotor anyways.

Maybe he was looking at a picture of hub swapped wheels that stick out too far as he said that..

I don't think it looks stupid. hotrodding was never meant to be a bunch of cars that look alike. Duh.

I like the smoothie idea too. Lol I had to look at it a few times, but it's definately cool.

Yeah...gloss black would look nice...it's all about how many mouths you can drop not how many races you can win, in this day and age...fast bags for life...maf was wondering if you could make me a set of custom from bags like yours during the winter offtime...interested?

Brembo SSBC Willwood will make hats to any spec you like, so the rotors are cake wake. I was quoted $230 for all 4 hats, that I can use on any rotor I like as long as it matched the hat bolt pattern, its all interchangeable.

For your project your hardest task is the caliper mounts.

Im going for Cobra-R calipers since Im being told by Steeds that they use a 13.8" rotor and they bolt on to our spindles. as for the rear I havent made it to the caliper selection, I was thinking perhaps Cobra-R again, since they use a 12" solid rear rotor. for the back I will need to fab up brackets and brake cable.

Wow. I should pay you for that info. Thank you! If you fab up rear caliper brackets, and don't mind making two .. I would definately buy a set. Otherwise I'll prob just go with cobra non R calipers brackets and rotors. The 13.8 rotors in front is what we really need.

Is there contact info for a certain rep you've talked to about these hats, or they'll just do it any day of the week?

Where are you finding R parts, .. ford racing? Aftermarket??
