Problem with the Lincoln again...

Okay so heres the scenario... two days ago im just driving along and I notice my wonderful 2000 lincoln ls v8 beeps at me informing me that I need to check my engine temp. So I look at the gauge and TADA ITS HOT BABY! So I pull in a parking lot and turn off the engine immediately. Open the hood and notice a boiling noise.. Then Im guessing my LS got sick and threw up Anti-Freeze out of the Degas cap because pressure was to high. Im like WTH!?
SO I go out and buy a new thermostat thinking that the thermostat is bad and go stuck and not letting water in.. So I replace the thermostat yesterday drive 7 miles out and TADA Its hot again.. Im at a loss? The water pump is good. The fan is running fine, blows hard. Thermostat is brand new. and The Old one once i boiled it in water opened up as well. Its not leaking Antifreeze on the ground or anywhere else until it gets way to hot and leaks it out of the pressure cap..

What could this be... I have heat also.. So I was wondering if there was air in the system causing this? so i filled it up with water open the fill cap blah blah blah.

But for some odd reason apparently my Lincoln LS 3.9L V8 doesnt have a Heater Air Bleed line? Ive searched in the place its suppose to be and everywhere else no dice..


So If anyone could please shine some light on this... I would be in great debt to them..
 
I mean where the hell does that Heater air bleed go to? its like there is no open spot for a line to go, or anything.. its just.. non existent ?
And as for a crack in the degas bottle.. Wouldnt it leak coolant if it was cracked? I mean you can tell its 11 years old just from the coloration of the plastic..

Please help D:!

It's not uncommon for the the micro cracks in the degas bottle to only leak coolant while traveling, so you can't see it. It is common for the crack to let air in/out so that the system can't pressurize. This will cause it to overheat.

If the system can't hit and maintain 15 PSI, the coolant will reach boiling point at a lower temperature. Once it boils, some of the liquid coolant becomes steam. Steam is much much less effective as a coolant than liquid. This leads to a run away thermal problem which will now cause very high pressures in the system, but it is too late by then. The steam will vent instead of condensing back to a liquid.
 
This is a co.mon issue fir all new cars not just the Ls. Its all the new plastic components that are used in the cooling system. First get a pressure test most likely the degas bottle needs to get replaced but take my advice once the degas bottle goes its time to replace all the plastic components and hosses on the car. I did this and now I'm good for another 100k miles on my 04.
You will need to replace all these parts do it now and consider it as preventive maintanace and remember that a tow is more expensive and you still have yo fix it anyways.
Degas bottle with cap
Lower and upper radiator hosses.
Thermostat
Thermostat cover
Thermostat housing
Hose that goes from upper radiator hose to the dccv
Hose that goes from degas bottle to the metal line on the firewall.
I got all these parts on rockauto.com and it all came out to less than 600 and since you are doing the work yourself its really easy fix if a mechanic is what you need you should pay no more than 300 for the fix and that's on the high end. Mines did it for 150 and i did a coolant flush to get the gunk out of the heater cores and the engine block.
Like i said just replace it and be good for he next 100k if you go cheap on it next time it gets hot outside another component will fail and its not worth the hassle and the towing.

And if your Degas bottle looks old and you are overheating...it needs to be replaced for sure. A bad reservoir cap could also be your problem....I've been thru 4 in my 2 LS's
 
This is crazy my car almost over-heated 2 days in a row now, Not a single leak the fan kicks on very high when it starts to go above half way, ive bleed the system correctly yesterday and replaced the cap, my question is if it is the degas bottle wouldnt it leak somewhat??

Okay thanks guys. Despite denying to myself that I didnt need a new Degas bottle.. I drove to work today and noticed it is starting to overheat alot quicker now.. within 4 miles now. Or at a idle.. So I got pissed and by the time i got to work It was starting to come out of the cap again.. Im thinking the massive pressure in the bottle forced it to crack even more and now its starting to leak right at the bottom of the drivers side fender.. i think all of you are right and its time for a new bottle..
Is there anywhere i can order this online for alot cheaper then what i can buy on ford?
And is there a diagram of some type for the replacing of the bottle..
