anyone here use these? they plug into lighter element, and can run household appliances off the car. i drive to fl in 2.5 weeks, and am taking the windstar. my thought was to run 2 heated blankets off of the unit as we drive. i did a little research, and found that you should get a unit with slightly more wattage than the item is rated for. so, each blanket is 270 watts...so i figure i need a 600 watt unit to be safe. also, i read somewhere that anything over 300 watts should be connected directly to the battery, not the cig lighter. can someone confirm this or deny it please.
