I ran an HID "kit" inside the stock foglight housings for a few days before I decided I wanted to do something different. The output of the kit was pretty poor compared to high amount of glare it put out. I had a set of 350Z projectors laying around so I put them in the LS foglight housings. The bulbs in the 350Z's are D2R 4300K ran at 35 watts.

I am pretty pleased with the final result. Virtually zero glare and a lot more light. It looks oem too. Let me know what you think:cool:

I think that is awesome! What did you do with the headlights? It looks like you have a sealed beam light in the low beam.

I take it you didn't get any pics of the W.I.P?

He retrofitted projectors into the low beams. I know the light output is about 90% better. I want to retrofit my lows but just don't have the patience.

Yes, I have pictures of the work in progress. We have 6 digi cameras at the house and I have to find which one I took them with.

But I will find them and add them. I will also take daytime shots so you can see the housings.

It didn't take very much cutting at all... but it did take a lot of bondo filler!

Im sure you just had the projectors laying around haha. Thats good stuff, I cant wait to see the other pics.

That is a very cool idea.

I still have not found the pictures of the work in progress!!! Here are some daytime shots. The entire 350z projector is behind the foglight and I just cut out a circular hole for the projector lens to stick through.

More pics to follow when I find them. Especially pictures of the back of them;)

Nice work. These are the older-style 350z single-xenon "proflectors" (not a true projector, but a combination of projector and reflector), right? Looking something like this:

haha that is a great name...proflector!:D Yes that is exactly what I used since I had them laying around the house. I cut off the side fins on the proflectors and then sealed the reflector part. The only light coming through the foglight housing is from the proflector lens:D

Hey man, you haul your boat behind the LS. Wow, how does the LS handle with all that weight behind? Never seen something that big towed before.

I'm even more curious how the LS does at the boat landing...

he might not have had them apart..... from the sounds of it he didnt have to. Whats it look like from inside the engine bay?

One more question, why did you not remove the amber reflector when you had those headlights apart?

Maybe because the "cleared" look isn't for everybody? I had mine apart and chose to leave the amber lens in because I wanted the headlights to be somewhat stock-looking.

i like the look of those and wanted to compliment your wheels those look pretty sweet on an ls. good selection. hows that pull the boat?

That looks damn good. I wish the stock lighting wasn't so horrible. I get the same amount from my lows and fogs as you do from those fogs.

Its 23.8 ft but only weighs 3700lbs. well the trailer may weigh like 1200+. Not sure

What sucks is that the last gas fill up was $275 but it is a lot of fun to drive nonetheless!

It will pull it up the ramps but just repeatedly brake torque the trans to heat it up...it slips out of gear and falls back down the ramp otherwise.

Another thing is that if I redline it the car won't chirp the tires in SST while pulling the boat because of the tongue weight, but overall it accelerates fine up and down hills. Last time I used a 100 wet shot in 2nd to pass two semi's uphill on the interstate. lol it almost accelerates like normal with the shot!!

Yeah the cleared look is not for me. I like the amber lens actually.

Yup, not for everyone and I sort of smoked my ambers instead of doing smoked clear.
