Paint chips & scratches

I use a paint pen (available at any auto store) and then after letting that dry after a few coats, use a clear coat pen to go over it and make it look good. It's about a 15 dollar fix and works pretty well!

+1

Got mine from pep boys, Just take the color code from the info tag on the door jam, go to the paint section and look it up... best couple of bucks.. barely tell its there...

I guess I'll have to give it a try. I was just trying to see if there were any specialty products that work well.

I orderd my pen paint from Tasca IRRC it was like 14 bucks not bad.

scratches

on scratches I use 3M scratch remover or turtlewax polishing compound. I use an electric buffer with cotton mitt on slow speed. the compounds have such little abrasives that it's hard to over buff. Takes off oxydation and fine scratches. Finish up with some good wax.

If your talking about buffing, Meguiars has a 5 step process, When I worked as a detail shop manager in PA, the owner pay'd for a Rep to come in... and train everyone... he was awesome!!

Anyhow, Iv always used Meguiars on every vehicle... (Since I was a kid) and its never steered me wrong...

Heres a link, I planned on using my stuff once the cold weather is gone for good...

Before winter I also do it again and by the time December hits my third coat of insulator wax goes on, and I have no issues with rust... and just take car to a do it yourself wash and spray it off... done.
