well the lincoln got out of the shop with a new radiator, thermostat, battery, condenser....i drive about 3 blocks and the thing overheats ...now at this time im starting to get a lil pissed off...let it sit 5 minutes start it and drive it back, the heat stayed fine on the way back, and its been fine since...they said that it must have hit an air pocket and they re-bled the airways....what do you think about this? i never heard of an air pocket

very common on the LS esp after servicing any part of the cooling system.

The V6 LS is very hard to bleed, the V8 LS isnt as bad. I have made up my own filling procedure for the LS to usually get no air pockets when im done but it does happen.

The LS has a crazy air bleed procedure and bleeders to do so.

The Coolant Tanks and the radiator in the LS sit lower than the highest point that the coolant has to traval, its basic physics, the air cant escape because of this thats why there are bleeder screws to help bleed the air out of the cooling system.

hope that helps.

If they would have roadtested your car when they were finished with it they would have found this out because there is no way they could have roadtested ive been doing this for awhile and if there is any air left in the system the car will overheat before you get around the block.

No offense to the techs on this site, however, I took my car in for the same problem and they replaced the tstat.........which wasn't bad. It ended up being the hydraulic cooling fan pump. Simple way to test it.......check the speed at idle with the AC off and then check it with the AC on. If the speed increases, you're fine and it could be something else (such as air in the system or bad overflow cap). If it doesn't, you're more than likely running into a bad hydraulic cooling fan pump..........check the previous threads on overheating issues to pinpoint your issue. However, it sounds as though your car is acting up when in a slow speed environment which is a sign of an airflow issue.......good luck and search some threads.
