My LS started to overheat again I love my car but damn this is frustrating. I already took the LS to a shop hopefully the damage isn't too bad.

I believe that you said it was trapped air in the cooling system last time. If so, I suspect that you have a small leak somewhere, probably the degas bottle.

overheating

If your car is '02 or earlier with the hydraulic fan, very few shops will even detect a problem in their bay if you present with overheating problems at idle or stop and go with AC on in very hot weather only. The "here today, gone tomorrow" nature of the overheating caused by the pump control solenoid has caused many first generation owners lots of unnecessary cost and frustration........Good luck with your issue, regardless of its cause.

Of course they say it's the tstat. But it's most likely not. It will look like they have fixed it because they will rebleed the system, getting the air bubbles out. Then the overheating will return, and you'll have to replace the degas bottle, since, like Joe said, that's the most common place for air infiltration.

I have to put in a plug for this each time an overheat issue comes up. It's complete and total crap that overheating in sport shift (No, not driving hard) is a known condition and has no response or fix in place. Leaving it in drive in heavy slow-ish traffic the car runs normal temps (yet I have to brake 10 times as much) but running a consistent speed with less braking (still at low rpm) makes the car overheat. What the hell is that all about?

The dealer/Fords response gripes my ass more than you could know......

I assume you are talking about the transmission overheating, and not the engine. AFAIK, this is a possible issue with all automatics with a manual mode. I have heard of anyone else having trouble with this with an LS. What are your engine RPMs when you are experiencing this?
