so i have been letting my father use my lincoln to get to work every day. its about a half hour away, all highway. today he gets home, tells me to take the car for a drive, so i do. when the car gets to od it revs like its in neutral. slow down, to when it downshifts, and it stays in that gear until you get to the od point again, and feels like neutral again. shut the od off, and its fine. (no od obviously) so am i looking at a trans, or something simple?

have you checked the od relay?

Sunds like the MLPS, its that black module on the drivers side of the transmission. 40 bucks, two ten mil bolts and 1/2 hour.
