Over heating

where the hell is the thermostat on these cars... i have a 04 lincoln ls 3.9L and its starting to over heat....

only 58,000 miles

ok did a little search on here, couldn't find thermostat placement but found that it could be a sensor... I did notice that after turning the car off and right back on it was no longer reading hot!

where is this temp. sensor located... any help would be great!
