One problem after another one.

Well, I just fixed the engine coil problem that I had on my 04 LS V6 and now I found another one. This problem is coming from the transmission and it only happens when the transmission releases the third and fourth gear. When I take off from a dead stop, 1st gear smooth, 2nd gear smooth but when it hits 3rd gear the car shakes (it feels like it releases the gear three times) and when it its 4th gear the car also shakes but not as bad (it only taps the gear twice).

The thing is that it doesn't do it all the time. When the car is cold, the transmission shifts smooth, but if you drive the car for a while, it starts do in it. Sometimes when I don't use the car for a couple of days the transmission shifts real smooth. I don't know what to think anymore any advise is appreciated Rick.

The 1-2 shift is really a shift into 1-overdrive and is done by applying a band. The 2-3 shift is accomplished by releasing the 1-2 band and applying another band at the same time. If there's a 'fight' between the release of the first band and the apply of the second one, you'll have the situation you describe. To find out why it's happening, you'll have to go to a trans tech.

A fluid/filter change could help. But Id have to guess that you're probably beyond that by now. It may help for a little while but it will probably come back.

Today, when I was driving the car to work I noticed that when the tranny releases 3rd and 4th gear it was shaking harder. Then I got on the accelerator hard for a dead stop and it takes all the shifts smooth with no problem.

Sometimes it feels like a motor mount or transmission mount is bad, but then i think that if that was the problem it would do it all the time.

I going crazy with this car.
