YUP I've seen that car! Looks just like the one I blew up this wednesday! HAHAHAHAHAHA
Long story shortened as much as possible.
Runnin 100 shot wet. Three passes made unsuccessful with N2O spray. 15.5 at best. Found my micro switch was missing a screw so it was just pushing up. Fixed that and got in line for the fourth and what would be the fatal run.
Now the way I am set up..... I want complete control over the deployment of nitrous. I have my arm switch and the micro switch. I was arming the system at 3k and letting the throttle/microswitch control it from there. After run three and tinkering in the pits..... I didnt disarm the system. When I mashed the gas at the tree........... BOOM The car rolled maybe 60' before stopping. I got out, popped the hood and the MAF was on fire. I blew it out. Litterally no more fire than on a birthday cake. But it was clearly visable from the stands as my 3yo daughter was screaming when her daddy's car blew up and caught fire with him in it. I heard her from the track. That is the worst part. I can fix the car. big deal! But her screaming in horror I cant take. anyway back on topic. Nitrous sprayed with not enough fuel created a massive backfire. At wide open throttle, it shot out the valve and up throught the intake. Blew the stock intake clear off the throttle body and the mounting screws that hold it in place. The baffles from ford were removed by force. All hoses were blown off and the stock air box is warped beyond repair. MAF sensor and wiring harness are now one piece, but work propperly. There sounds like a hole in the exhaust, but I wont be able to tell for sure untill I get the intake fixed. That being said I've been working on the fabrication of a CAI for a little while now.... I'm actually on my third or fourth design. Its ready for implimentation...... just need a couple more welds, a grind and some paint. I still will not be putting a controller in or a windo switch..... Not enough control on it. If it blows up, it will be because of me, not an electrical piece malfunctioning.
Damn that car looks good een when its being pushed! I'm a little biased, but I think my LS might be the cleanest looking one ive seen!
