The P.O.S. from Nevada wants to use the financial bailout of Freddie and Fannie, the mess that he helped create, to ban OIL SHALE. He's trying to slip this into the bill at the last second.

Let's hear you Dems defend this:

Sec 1602 concerns the continued ban on oil shale.

SEC. 1602. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, including section 152 of division A of H.R. 2638 (110th Congress), the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Act, 2009, the terms and conditions contained in section 433 of division F of Public Law 110–161 shall remain in effect for the 19 fiscal year ending September 30, 2009.

With oil shale, we have 2-3 times the reserves of Saudi Arabia.

Don't tell me the Dems aren't trying to destroy this Country. The way I see it they are trying their best to do exactly that right now.

Well, it seems they would rather destroy the economy than harm the environment. Would that be the fair assumption?

If so, then the exact opposite could be said about the republicans (republicans care more about the economy than the environment)

What a simplistic and misguided statement.
Can you tell me the name of a poor country that can take care of the environment? Fact is, environmentalism is extremely expensive, and without a robust economy, no one is able to afford all of the tip-toeing that environmentalism demands.

An additional misleading implication in your comment is that by obtaining natural resources someone "doesn't care about the environment." This statement is simply untrue.

So the exact opposite can not be true.
The Democrats clearly care more about the enviromentalists than they do the economy. It has nothing to do with what's actually good for the country or the environment itself. Otherwise we wouldn't be wasting all this energy arguing about "CO2 emissions" when countries like China a pumping actual mercury into the air.

Hey man, the op was the one who wanted to oversimplify to throw all democrats in the same bucket.
