I'm getting a oil temp sensor error on the mes. board. It doesn't stay on it only reads when I do the system check. PROBLEM?

Mine does that if the engine isn't hot enough when I do the test. Generally if I let it sit and idle for a few, it works. Probably some kind of short?

It doesn't COME ON it only READS when I do the system check. I never ran it thru when engine was good and hot. I'll try that.

My green 94 had that problem once. I checked and cleaned the plug on the side of the oil pan but it was ok.
A couple weeks later I was working on something else and noticed a wire from the harness near the radiator was scuffed and had green copper showing. I cleaned the wire, spliced and soldered it. Mo more message.
The harness is near the lower part of the radiator and contains the wires going to the oil pan.
