was going to install a oil seperator on my lincoln (02 conti) but after looking at it I noticed that the pcv valve goes in after the TB and the breather on the drivers side goes in before the TB. Same on my 150. So the question is why would it not be mounted on the side before the TB? Or should you have them on both?

Never mind I found it. Any ideas on how to install it in a hard plasic line? And is the insulation on the line a must have?

The breather tube BEFORE the t/b feeds the PCV system metered air - oil will not be sucked up through here.

You want the separator in the hose between the PCV valve and the manifold/plenum/etc. AFTER the t/b.

As far as the plastic tube, you can either install the separator close to the PCV valve where the stock hard plastic tube will have the rubber section. Slide the stock rubber piece over one of the 3/8" hose barbs on the seperator , and use another short piece of 3/8" hose on the inlet hosebarb to the PCV valve.

OR just run a whole new 3/8" hose for the PCV return. This is what I did on my Marquis so it would not bind at all (I know it's a different engine and platform, but the same applies)
