Sooo for the last week we haven't broken above 0 degrees. Yesterday it hit above 40 so I opened the windows and aired her out. All fine and dandy. Closed em at the end of the day. Fine. Today it went back below zero naturally the windows stick shut on days like this so I went to give the window a little downward push to help and the thing fell into my door. Shoomp. There it went. Now I can reach it and pull it back up and it didn't break or anything but still... my window doesn't open or close. Did it just fall off the track? Any ideas what happened? If it did how do I get it back on? Please help as I said its sub zero and supposed to stay that way so the sooner I have a window the better

yes it came out of the track and you will need to pull the door panel to get it back on. rule of thumb here in Northwest indiana is to leave power windows alone in the winter..

Damn. Any quick instructions on how to pull the panel? Or it one of those one size fits all pulls so I can get it done when I'm out of the office

How are you so sure that the cord didn't break?

just from experience it could have but usually the window gets pulled out of the clips. when the top of the window sticks the motor pulls on the clips which are usually glued to the glass.

mmafighter, there are usually screws by the door handle check for little plugs that are screw covers. remove all screws you can see or find and then the edges of the door panel has hiddin clips behind that can be popped loose. dbl check everything before pulling to hard as not to bend anything.

A plastic bag will work wonders and should give you about a 50HP bump. Make sure the bag is black though, white is a minimal gain at best.

There has just been a thread here on how to replace the power mechanism. It gives even pictures on how to do this job. Your problem certainly happened at the right time!!
