i noticed the other day when i was driving on the freeway going down hill, I put the car in nuetral and it held 2600 RPM is that normal...why doesn't it drop to idle??

also i don't know if any of you have noticed but the LS hold RPM for a couple second before dropping.. I put a IAC restricter plate on the IAC and it drops fast.. Nice touch....

Its normal. It protects the clutches in the transmission from "back spinning" when you put it back into gear. Its hard to explain unless you know a lot about automatic transmissions, but its that way for a reason.

Yeah I have noticed this too. What is interesting to me is how the first gen keeps the rpm's up... the second gen LS has drive by wire so it makes sense, but the first gen does not... I have a first gen and I've been going fast, like double the speed limit and dropped it in neutral before. The computer kept the rpms around 3200:confused:

IAC restrictor plate? please explain.... maybe a pic and some advantages of this?

Yeah I'm confused as to the advantages of restricting air flow...

idle air flow is all thats restricted... it just makes it idle down faster from a nuetral rev...its more for the guys with v6 manuals. I have no mufflers and rev at people i know so i don't want the idle hanging at 3,000 rpms for ever

I knew it. You do understand that with a automatic it sounds stupid when you do that?

Especially with a automatic like the LS.

No offense.

Oh man Pektel I just noticed your new avatar!...LOL! Classic funniness!

This is actually the first time Ive ever heard of these.

once i get the nuetral rev limiter takin off it wont sound so stupid... and just for all you guys to know, the strait pipe will be no more next week... I'm ordering my new MAC performance mufflers monday, the strait pipe is just to much.. I can't hear my intake.

TO EACH IS OWN BROTHER!

also the idle air control restricter will also cause the car to slow down fast when holding a gear and letting off the gas

Good decision on the mufflers. I dont know about that brand but good deal.

I have used them on my old mach 1.. here let me show you..
