So I have been searching high and low for the past hour and couldn't find exactly what I needed. I am aware there is thread after thread of removal instructions for the crappy alpine cd changer. I have already removed mine and have it somewhat disassembled.

The problem lies in actually getting to the innards. It seems as if the majority of the assembly is riveted together. Anyone have any tricks or experience with getting this thing fully apart so I can properly try to fix it? Thank you in advance.

which one, the indash, or the glovebox changer?

either way, i would toss it to the curb and get a better radio.

I think he's referring to the glove box disc changer. I too wish this was easy to remove as the glove box is rather cramped with the disc changer in there.

it kinda is, rip yours out then grab the glove box shell out of a junked out car. there usually isnt any problems finding 1st gen part.

I was referring to the indash version. Like I said, it is completely ripped out of the car and sitting in my living room. But now it is just a square metal box and none of the panels are easily removed to actually get at some of the gears and repair them.

much easier to replace... most would go aftermarket, but finding a stock one should be easy, and cheap

Yeah I am ordering aftermarket as we speak, I will not invest money into another one of those stock ones. Was just hoping I could tinker and get it working.
