i have a 2005 ls v6 with 40k miles. Whenever i accelerate i hear a hissing kind of sound like i have turbo in my car or sumthin lol. its like suction sound and its only when im accelerating but when im coast its ok. its a loud hissing sound.
any solutions?

I have a '05 V8 and i hear the same thing. Its mostly from 0-45 mph and it does sound like a turbo spooling, not as loud but if you know what a turbo sounds like then thats the sound. It moves with the engine speed and rpm's. I hope its not a problem as i have just dismissed it as just a "sound". When i am sitting at a drive thru i hear different sounds too. Never really thought of them as a problem though.

kind of irrelevant since i have a 2000 ls8, but i hear a hissing sound too, my conclusion is the intake sucking in air. it sounds exactly like i think it would and my moms car used to do it and it was a chevrolet blazer

My moms trailblazer used to do it REAL bad, we never thought anything of it, took it to the dealer, they said nothing was wrong with it, they replaced the air filter and it still did it. About 4 months ago my brother almost totaled the trailblazer when he tboned a kia sephia doin 45mph, no more noise!! The bad part is we got dropped from our insurance after they had to shell out $6000 in repairs.

The culprit seems to be the plastic vacuum line splitter that comes off of the power brake booster and connects into the intake tubing. Just follow the vacuum lines that come off of the power brake booster on the drivers firewall and you will find it. I replaced the plastic splitter and the noise went away on my 04 v8.

Take the hose off of the splitter on the end closer to the front of the engine and see if it whistles. My new splitter started to whistle after about 2 weeks, I drilled it out to make the hole larger and it stopped for now.

Hey jiggajatt, I would take it back to the dealer because that will covered under warranty. I had a PVC hose replaced under warranty because it would come undoneand make noise. They took care of it no problem.
