No Panel vents

2000 ls 3.9 sometimes the climate control will not go to the panel position. Would it most likely be in the climate control head or a actuator on the heater box? I have never been able to get a code out of the climate control.

It could be either, but the mechanical (actuator) part is probably more likely to be the problem.

Does anyone know where the actuators are? I know on the heater box but do you start on right or left?

I think (but don't know for certain) that it will be on the left side.
