Hello,
I have a Lincoln Ls 2000.
My degas bottle was cracked and I replaced it, followed the bleeding procedure to a "T". Here is my problem. No heat.
After reading the threads I thought it might be the DCCV but pretty sure its not, because the temp is the same on both sides. After running it above 2000 rpm I will get some heat, but not HOT, but ok. The 3 aluminum tubes that come from the DCCV are hot. What I don't understand is that once I shut it down, It won't get hot again and have to do it Every time I start the car and need the heat.
Could this be a thermostat Problem? It doesn't over heat, Temp gage is good... So damn confused.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

If you have a V8 and if you get good heat while driving but not while idling, then it could be the aux pump. If not, you probably stirred up some gunk in the cooling system when you changed the degas bottle and now the DCCV is clogged or stuck. Take the DCCV off and clean it and then flush the whole cooling system. It should be flushed every three years if you want to avoid this happening.

Ok, I dont get any heat while im driving.
if the dccv was bad, then the aluminum pipes coming from it would not be hot?

I wouldn't say that. Some heat will conduct to them.
It is not that unusual for both sides of the valve to fail at once, so the even heat is not unheard of. Also, the driver's side core is dominate, so when that side fails, it over powers the passenger side too.

The real check is to see if all three hoses to the heater core are hot. It's best to check near the heater core. If they are hot, but you are getting cold air, then your cold-air bypass door may be stuck in the cold position. This should show up on the self diagnostics from the climate control.

If the hoses are not hot, then it could be that the heater cores are clogged.

All that said, I've never heard of it being the heater cores or the cold air bypass door. There have been many who were convinced that it was, but in the end (for your symptoms) it has always been the DCCV.
