No heat

I swear this is the most finicky system of all freaking time!! My heat doesn't work. I know it has something to do with the cooling system, but I need to know the trick to make sure every time I change my coolant it works. If anyone could tell me that would be F-in sweet.

Bleed all the air out of the cooling system. Lots of threads here about that.

You might also want to make sure the blend door is not tEh screwed up.

Could be lots of things. Start with the easy stuff first.

I highly doubt it's your heater core, not a common issue with these cars. You could always drop your glovebox & make sure the blend door arm is all the way down. That only takes 35 seconds

I agree it's probably not the heater core.

I've only seen one fail personally, and it was mine..and it was my fault it failed probably.. or maybe it was 275,000 miles.

If the no heat condition comes after a coolant change it's definatley air in the system.

the blend door is also an obvious suspect..
mines broke.. I'm very intimate with the "grey arm"

You have got to be kidding me! I have never seen that before in all my searches! I went through soooo many crappy winters and freezing temps!

I went outside after seeing that and i was like, "what gray lever?,.... Oh... there it is.. turned the car on and that would be the first time i have felt warmer air come out of those vents since i bought the car!

Thank you ! you just made my day! then i read the writeup on doing the fix and said screw that!... ill just keep pulling that lever!

Until the black arm breaks totally.... then you're screwed again

Tommy's blend door is broken in his 98 but he says if he turns the gray arm by hand and puts the heat on high it holds the flap open so he gets heat.
