Ok this car is gettin to me now. I have had it for almost a year with no complaints. Mostly been doing maintence things which I do not see a problem with. But this last week this car has been driving me crazy.
So when I purchased the car only the front driver speaker worked. Before ripping all the speakers and radio I listened to advise on here and replaced the JBL Amp. It helped, I had sound from all the Left side speakers on FM. On AM the radio worked fine. This was good enough for me. Well driving the car yesterday I turned the radio off to listen to my engine (for another issue). I turned the radio back on and NO sound. I turned it off and back on, no sound. NO FM at all. The AM works fine. My 45 minute drive home last night was great listening to AM lol.
Could this be the amp again? I may just rip the whole damn radio system out and rewire some nice speakers and new head unit. But not sure when I could do that cause I have more important problems to fix first.

Hook up the FM antenna... bet it came out of the head unit or maybe the wire in the trunk got knocked off? You dont really need an antenna for AM, hence why you are getting AM. Well, at least its a start and all I can think of while on these cold meds!

Ya, sick as a dog. First time in years... not happy. I had to close my business early :(

Anyway, you can get to the head unit two ways. First is you pull it out. Second, if you want just wire access, is to pop up the message center controls. I do this a lot, works well. Pry up from the front, it will pop. Then pull forward and out a little to unclip the TWO wire harnesses. Bingo, lots-o-access. Look for the big antenna one.

Will try it tomorrow.
I hate gettin sick. You restore older cars correct?

No, I have owned plenty of old ones but I have a friend that I work with a lot that restores Studebakers.

:( UNITY Sorry to hear your sick.....get to the doctor. If it's the same thing I had, it kicked the $hit out of me for weeks. Tried fighting on my own, I'm a stubborn old man, It didn't work ...Anyway take care of it, It can be a bitch!!!

Definitely check the antenna!

Sal, just gut that system and put in a nice little system. It is the best thing you can do to that Mark. Get rid of the factory system. Your problems are coming from the head unit itself. I had the same problem in my 93, and I wasn't having it. I just got an aftermarket system.

Yea but the aftermarket system cost $$$, I need to replace my front end stuff first, then replace either a valve lash so the engine stops tapping, then I can do the stereo before the trans goes lol.
