I took '98 LSC CE with 59K in for a tranny fluid change (I have the shudder problem) and the tech told me there's no drain plug on the torque converter. How can you get the fluid out of the converter if there's no plug? Does anybody else have a car with no plug or is mine a freak?

It needs to be flushed out/purged. There's a reason there's no drain plug - and it's all about the $$$$$$$

Drain plugs for Ford Converters are like a box of chocolates as Forrest Gump would say. You never know what you're going to get. I've seen the exact same vehicles be different...one have it and the other not. It seems to be what supplier they used for your build number as to whether or not you get it.
