Just as the title says, I press max a/c and nothing happens, no compressor kicks on, nothing. This is something I know zero about. I also knew zero about every other thing I've done to this car so yeah, what's involved?

The car sat for 2 years so I'm sure even if the compressor was working I'd have to recharge it. Is there anyway I can check to see if its connected or still works or anything? It was kinda hot yesterday and I'm gonna need it this summer

I hear ya. I just re-did mine and the dang thing leaked out anyway. So now I am back to square one.

This can be a DIY project or you can take it in.

What I would recommend is taking in for just a vacuum test. They would have to do this anyway. If it cant hold a vacuum it cant hold pressure. This will tell you that there is a leak somewhere. Most of the time is leaks at the seals/o-rings. These can be had for about $14 a set and are pretty easy to install.

If there is no leak detected, which would be odd, then a refill is needed. If there is a leak I would probably take it back and replace the o-rings and then take it back for another vacuum test and then refill.

I just replaced mine and the AC worked great for a few weeks but I did not use it much. I am going to take it in somewhere for a vacuum test and see what comes up. My compressor has a crack in the casting but worked well before the engine swap. However, it may be the source of the leak if it got worse. If they detect a leak I will probably take it back and putt a compressor on it and use soapy water to see if I can spot the source.

Ideally I would like to replace everything with new. But thats big bucks.

Thanks, it looks to me like I'll be doing a lot of windows down drivin fast!

I did a little searching on ebay and found some parts that would be cheap enough, my god those compressors are like 200 bucks new! What should I be looking to replace (minus the o rings)

start with a leak test from a good shop, then go from there, dont throw parts at it when all you might need is a charge ,or a charge and a few dollars worth of o rings.
