I've got an LS. I've had coil issues. I've had them replaced one at a time, as they throw codes, under warranty/extended coil warranty. (my car is an '05 but I have extended it's warranty for 5 yrs beyond the fty warranty)
It's been running like crap for the last two months. Barely driveable on the highway, and no codes, so even though I took it to them twice they didn't fix anything.
Long story short, I had to get an emissions test to get new registration, and my car failed because of coils. The check engine light literally came on as I was driving to the place, after two months of trying to make that happen. This wasn't pleasant!
But now I just got a call and they are replacing the 6 coils that are original, as well as all 8 plugs. I asked them why they are finally replacing them (I've asked about doing this a dozen times
) and they said they finally have codes from all the bad coils! I thought it was odd that 6 coils threw codes at once, but there you go.
Yay. Here's to hoping the car runs well for at least a couple years now.
