Hi All from British Columbia!

My first post having recently purchased a 2002 LS6 with the manual transmission. Enjoying the amount of car you get for the money!

It ran ok for a couple of weeks but it has recently developed a misfire. My code reader shows cylinder 6 misfire. I have read a lot about the notorious coil packs.

I am busy for the next 2 months studying for a trades exam so I don't wish to delve into it right away...its my hobby car that I don't need for a commute.

Questions:
Is cylinder 6 accessible, or is it under the intake manifold?
The misfire developed immediately after being parked over a rainy weekend- is this a coincidence or relevant?

Thanks

Darren

They are COPs (Coil-On-Plug).
Yes, it's related to the rain. There's a $5 seal on the wiper cowl that you need to replace.
If you don't deal with it right now, you will be dealing with $3K of catalytic converters.

Thanks awfully for this insight. I have parked her in the dry garage for the time being! I apologise for not researching enough initially and am grateful for the coil on plug terminology correction. Like I said, newbie and I purchased her as a hobby where I could gain experience!

Cylinder 6 is drivers side rear end of engine. I had one of these a few months back, after 2 COP changes with no change to the misfire, it turned out to be a bad spark plug with less than 20K miles on it.
