I know, look at the other threads, but there are 348 of them. I need 4 new tires and wonder what everyone else is using. I have a 2003 V8, 235-50-17, Michilen Pilot MXM4.
The tires are on there last leg, but I have 60200 miles on them. Is anyone getting that kind of mileage from any other brands. The cheapest I found the Michilin's for was $990.00 for 4 installed.
If anyone has gotten 50,000 miles or more on a set, please post. Trying to save alittle cash for my brake upgrade.

Thanks

maybe switch to 245/45 size. Way more common size, so should be cheaper too.

What kind of mileage are you getting with them? My thought is if I pay a $1000 and they last for 60K, I should be good. But if I pay $800 and the last 30K, I am at a loss. I have read most are getting 30K-40K on other brand tires.
I do drive the car hard, every Friday, and it is also my everyday car. That is why I want a proven tire for life and handling. Are you getting good life out of the 245's?

Also, I have original rims, will 245's fit properly? Would I have to get the computer recalibrated for the tire size change?

I went with a set of the Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge tires because all-seasonality and a smooth, quiet ride were most important to me. Initially I was drawn to the unique tread pattern (which does look aggressive from the rear view of the car) but after researching them I was sold. I live in Minnesota and I can attest that these tires actually handle better in cornering, snow, rain, and ice situations than the factory Michelin Pilots that were on my '02 LSE when I bought it. And at a better price too.

Got them a year ago at Discount Tire with replacement certificates for right around $800. I would recommend them to anybody who owns an LS.

mine were $600. Only had them a year so far. i'd say i'll get 3 years based on remaining tread and aggressive driving habits. that lands you roughly at 35k. they were not that great in the snow, but if you know how to drive, you can get through pretty deep slick nasty slushy stuff. very good in the rain, awesome on clean dry road. stiff responsive sidewall- a biatch to get on the rims

Mileage...IDK, I have only had them for 3 weeks. They are great on the dry, and very good on the wet...better in all respects than the stock Michelins.
The Michelins always felt like the car wasnt completely set in the corner. Not so with the BFG's.

I purchased the Yohohama S.Drive 235-50-17 Summer tire. I live in Georgia, so we do not see to much snow or ice, and if we do, the state will shut down.
They had to order them, should be in next week. Keep you posted.
