Hello everyone! It seems like this is the most popular LS community on the web, so I'm glad to be a part of it! I just inherited a 2000 Lincoln LS V8 and I am absolutely in love with it. However, it has a few minor problems that need attention.

I'm looking to upgrade the stock head unit. However, it appears I need to determine if my stock unit is Alpine or not in order to get the right installation parts. I have the cassette player and a 6-CD changer in the glove box, but nowhere does it say "Alpine." I have no documentation on the car or its features. How can I confirm that it is an Alpine system or not?

I'm sure more questions will follow, but I don't want to bombard you with newbie inquiries. I freaking love this car and I plan on babying it and holding on to it for life. I'm looking forward to being an active member of the LVC community!

that, and it really doesnt matter if its alpine or not.

if you want a double din radio you will need this dash kit 95-5000B (the B is for black)

if you want single din (yuk) you will need this dash kit 99-5000

then you will need this wire harness 70-55819

if you dont have the OEM subs, then you can either not use the second harness or get the 70-1771

the you will need the ASWC to get the steering wheel controls to work (the radio you get must support it)
