Ok just go a 2004 LS Ultimate and here are a few things wrong that i hope some of you can shed some light on for me....

1) Gas tank will not accept gas any faster then .15 gallons at a time...Filled the tank today...took about half an hour, its getting cold here in MI and im not about to stand out in the cold any longer then i need to.

2) Windsheild wipers do not work in auto or any of the intermittent settings, only works in always on low and always on high...so it's all or nothing.

3) Heated and cooled driver seat is just not working, are the air ducts known to come off or are the fans notorious for going bad or what should i start looking for?

4) The door mirror controls are not working, the mirror motors are fine and working as when i hit the different presets the mirrors both move to different possitions. Also when the head lights are on the only thing on the door that doesn't light up are the mirror controls, are they supposed to be lit up?

5) Looking to get an intake and a tuner, any other easy ways to free up some extra ponys? not really looking to drop the kind of money to get a full exhaust.

6) Still looking for my factory code for the number pad keyless entry. I know this is addresed in the forum here and will look for it again, just thought someone might post a link to the correct thread here.

7) Need an owners manual, any good place to get one of those?

8) Need new tires, What would you guys recommend? Keep in mind i live in MI so lot of wet roads and a ton of snow through the winter. Have a truck to drive during the winter but being that it is a gas hog if there isn't fresh snow on the ground i wouldn't mind driving the LS. So do i go with a set of snow tires and a set of performance tires for the warmer months, or try to find some all weather tires or what? Also, any one know the lugs nuts that i should get, like the part number for the sebring ones?

9) Any one know why the center console has 2 separate leavers on the front, the small one opens the console lid, what does the bigger one do? Mines broke all to hell so that is something that is getting replaced.

Thats about all i can think of at the moment. Like i said im sure alot of this is posted in the forums and i will look for them but it would be nice to have this stuff all in one post. Thanks for the help guys.

You'll have to search about numbers 1,2,4,6 & 8.
Yes the seat air ducts are notorious for popping off. But the light does come on for a second then it goes off .
You're door code IIRC. will be at the dealership if it didn't come with the car when you bought it.
The long lever on the center console is to move it forward or back. For your comfort.
Oh yeah . The majority of this info is in the sticky labeled

1. Possibilities are: (a) foreign object in filler neck (b) rollover valve stuck (c) gas tank vent valve fault - should give check engine light (d) gas tank vent clogged - often by spiders.

2. The sensor on the windshield (at the rear view mirror) may not be correctly attached, may be faulty, or you have have the wrong windshield installed. If you unplug the sensor, the wipers should function as normal wipers, including all the delayed sweep settings.

3. Need more info. Do they start up briefly, then fail? What are the lights for the seats indicating? Have you checked to see if the seat filters are dirty? Have you tried them with no one in the seats? (Must do this after a re-start of the car, once the seats do fail, they stay that way until you restart.) Crushed ducts are more of a problem than detached ones. Do note that the heated and cooled seats have their own fans and heatpumps. They do not use any air from the car's climate control.

4. Yes the mirror buttons light up. It sounds like someone did some work in the driver's door and forgot to plug the mirror switch back in.

5. Not worth it.

6. Since you don't have the owner's manual, you don't have the card with the number on it. The only place you'll find the code is at your local Ford/Lincoln dealer.

7. There's a PDF of the manual you can download here. You can also register on the Lincoln site as an owner and get a PDF there. You can buy a hard copy from
http://www.helminc.com/helm/homepage.asp?r=

8. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus 235/50ZR17

9. As indicated, it's so you can slide the armrest forward.

I sometimes have trouble filling-up at Costco. It seems their overflow sensor is easily tripped. Try twisting the handle a little to the side.

The duct work under the seat sometimes gets kinked and prevents normal operation. You may also need to replace the seat filters.

V6 or V8? K&N makes an intake for the T-Bird that will work on the V8 LS.

An All Season (no season) tire will get you stuck if you get any more than two inches of snow. I don't care what anyone says, they won't cut it on this car. I live in the snow belt and drove with all seasons, and it wasn't fun.

For an excellent wallet friendly winter tire I recommend the General Altimax Arctic, 215/55R17. Less than 0.5% within OE diameter, great in the snow, on ice and dry as well. It's also surprisingly smooth and quiet, so you can't go wrong. I am very happy with mine.
