I will apologize in advance for no road experience opinions because this just made it to my garage onto my car today. The 30 min drive home was perfect, I forsee some pretty fun driving ahead. These are 14" vented, cross drilled, slotted rotors and 6 pot Wilwood calipers on my 2005 LS....

My thanks to Todd at TCE Performance products for this first fitment to an LS.

what size rims are those? they look good.. jus not much bigger.. whats the price range on these?

14" is crazy - Mustang Cobra's are only 13's....lol

Can you give a ballpark on pricing if you feel comfortable?

Did not add a rear upgrade, I've been driving on a 13" BBK on my SVT Focus for years now and have not noted any need to upgrade the rear. Might eventually on the LS though but it would be more for asthetic reasons.

Kit was less than the price I've seen for the Stop tech kit, and price meaning installed on the car including tax. I don't quote it now out of respect for the fact that it was the first Todd TCE had done, and he did me a reasonable deal since it was a development project. I am certain he did up an extra set of adapters or two for any future LS deals.....check with him to verify that.

At this point I'm afraid that series of pics is all I have. The offset of the 18's I am told, is somewhat more than average and the clearance is not much more than the wheel weights will allow, in other words it's close. Some 18's may not work.

Look great..................

but talk about overkill. Most LS's don't go fast enough to even tax the stock brake system. But they do look hot.

the steel braided break lines on LSK would look amazing on that set up.. :D

just a thought if u were going to do the back for aesthetics..

Ask Boomhower or Gt95Coupe how my brakes looked after running Highway 129 at 40 MPH. The pads were smoking for a good 10 minutes after we stopped, and that was only after 11 miles!

They were freaking pooring smoke out of the right rear side you could see the smoke a good 4 to 5 feet above the wheel. needless to say there postal do right those brakes so much at T.O.D next time!!!! :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: LMBO

At this point the kit is a "one off" but can be reproduced. It does include front SS hoses. Pricing cannot be stated for Forum rules. Very easy bolt on package, future brackets when produced will be black anodized as well to match the hat.

One thing to think about. The rear rotors are vented for a specific reason, not just asthetics. The rear rotors do a more than average bit of braking due to the anti-dive/lift rear suspension geometry. IIRC, the rear rotors are only 2mm smaller than the front. INHO, a rear system would be highly desireable to "brake-match" the front.

Those brakes sure look purty!! What offset and wheel size would be needed to clear the calipers?

Seriously I want these. Are these big enough to where you might need to replace the stock Master Cylinder? Or is the stock hydraulics sufficient?

I'm sorry but I have dive on that one, I constantly found myself going faster than I should (after driving a Focus SVT as a daily driver) for the responsiveness/effectiveness of the stock brakes, they did not bring the car down fast enough and there was a delay in response compared to the Focus' responsiveness. I knew if I wanted to really use the LS's handling and power in the future, I needed to improve the brakes. I have confidence the master cyl will be fine, they feel the same as standard in regular driving conditions, the pressure vs braking response feels the same as stock. Until I get a chance to drive them in anger, I don't fully know but I have no suspicions about the performance of the standard master cylinder.

I didn't say a thing about the rears being poor or inadequate, in fact I doubt I would ever find them inadequate, hence my comment for only upgrading them to match the front asthetically.

Oh, and for a question asked by LS4me, I'll get a look at one of my rims, and let you know the offset....

Rears are in progress, we have the Wilwood rear parking brake calipers and 13 inch rotors. Todd has the adapter completed and test fit. Our only hangup was that the originally planned 1.1" rotor would not fit the new caliper so we had to abort the install for the day and get some 1" rotors ordered. He was confident with his cable connection answer so it's just a matter of time now.

Would have done this sooner had the Mina exhaust not been such a distraction.......

BTW, the fronts have around 10K on them now and are brilliant. No issues with the stock hydraulics and the basic feel (pedal pressure) is as stock. They don't give me that scary feeling from higher speeds as the stock ones did. Part of that scary feeling is because of what I expect brakes to feel like after driving my SVT Focus. Now they inspire confidence. All we did was upgrade the pads to BP20's along the road of development and we're settled in to a very nice package. Just need to complete the rears now.

Update soon.

Did this kit ever get to market? Any plans? The Stoptech is a great option, but the price is out of this world.

+1

I'm looking at newbrakes very soon, and was thinking of going this route, but not for the insane price of the stoptech...
