New guy here w/ questions

Hey,
I have always loved the looks of the LS and have always wanted one. It seems that now is the time for me to make a move. I was hoping to run some numbers by you guys to see if they seem right.
'01 LS V8 54K miles $13,185
'01 LS V8 45K miles $13,815
'02 LS V8 20K miles $15,995

Do these prices sound right? Is there any concerns I should be aware of with the '01 - '03's?

They seem a little high, but it depends on mileage and options. If you have the option specs for each car, go to http://www.edmunds.com/tmv/used/lincoln/index.html and see what the fair market value is for them. There's always room as far as the price is concerned. It also makes a difference if you're buying private party or at a dealership. My vote would be for the lowest possible miles.

As for problems... people have had few, and others have had many. Make sure all maintenance has been done, tires are decent, etc. Biggest issue with the '00-'02's have been leaking valve cover gaskets... oil seeps into the ignition coils and causes misfires. Others should chime in.

Other than those do seem a little high for 1st gen LS's, unless they are in reeaaaaal good condition. Other problems to look out for would be headlight sealant, ball joints(front end clumking noise), bearings, the valve covers/coils, and window regulators.....

Those seem too high. I'd say the '02 with 20k seems like the best deal but i'd still work the price down some, its important to remember that prices are all relative to each individual area. For example if you lived in Florida you could go grab this '04 V8 with factory warranty for the same price as your '02 V8.
