Hi everyone.
I recently was gifted a 1984 Cadillac Eldorado convertible as a present, in order to drive across country in it when I move to California in a few months.
The car is in great condition, and has about 84,000 miles on it. The car hasn't arrived yet, so these are blind questions.
I know very little about older cars, so I was hoping someone could help me find out some info about this model of car.
I assume it would take 89 octane gasoline, but read somewhere that there were some diesel model eldorados around that time - is that a possibility?
Also, anyone have an idea of avg mpg for an 84 eldorado? I'm concerned gas prices could murder me as I drive cross country.
Then, is there any performance inmprovements I should make in anticipation of making a long distance trip of this sort?
Thanks for your help!
