I am about to replace brakes, both front and rear. I am looking to buy something that will be good but wont cost me an arm and a leg. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

brakes, as in just pads? pads and rotors? or pads, rotors, and SS lines?

I recently installed a rotorpros package. front & rear Zind Coated drilled/slotted rotors with black painted centers, f & r extended wear pads, and f & r StopTech stainless steel brake lines, all for 350 shipped. You can upgrade to ceramic pads too.

Don't go with EBC sport slotted rotors. I have them and can't stand the noise they make. Luckily for me it's winter time and my windows are closed the majority of the time.

R1 Concepts would be your best bet for performance and price

Amen to that brother...I almost went EBC til my buddy's at my Lincoln Dealership told me of R1 concepts, I just need to determine when to do my brakes (Paint em up baby) get the SS brake lines (I am unsure how easy that is to install). I'm sure anyone with a TV heard of how :q:q:q:qed up our weather is in Washington State :'(

When I test drove my LS I could hear the pads chirping so the dealer replaced them all and cut the rotors. A month or so later I heard a loud rattling in the front end so I took it to the local Lincoln dealer since it was under the factory warranty. It ended up being the cheap Chinese pads the Toyota dealer I bought it from put on that didn't fit right and had no anti-rattle clips. They paid the Lincoln dealer to install OEM pads and they're quiet and stop excellent.

Are these the same thing as the R1? Or they just look similar?

Actually I should ask how did they work out for you?
They are similar. I am not sure where R1 gets their blanks from, but these have been good for me since I installed them a couple of months ago...

Ive tried a few. None of them have the best combination of fade resistance, cold bit, quietness...as OEM Motorcraft pads and rotors.

My EBC pads and rotors are way better than OEM at everything but noise.

X2
I've got a set of Ultimax rotors on the front of mine and they drive me crazy every time I hit the brakes.
