Went to Mooresville Dragway on 2/29/08. Ran my best times to date. Check out the included time sheet. All of my runs were on the 19's. With out a doubt it would be faster on the stock wheels but I want to see how far I can go with the way it sits in street trim.

Elevation 817'
Temp 65
Sunny and Calm

Car had cooled down for 45 minutes. Temp gauge showed 1/4. Shift pressure +20 percent over Track tune. Timing +1 degree 0-2000rpm and +2 degrees 2000-7000rpm over Track tune. Slow reaction time but I was concentrating on getting out of the hole more than winning a race. Would have been a 9.2 but I spun slightly at launch, bumped the rev limiter slightly 1-2 and spun slightly on the 2-3 shift. Very small mistakes but worth .05-.1 second all together. Pulled the shift pressure back a little after this run because I would spin for 5-10' on 1-2 and you could feel the drivetrain "bouncing" on shifts. Only way I know how to describe it. Made the rest of my runs hot, no cool down, but still ran 9.3's and 9.4's. Not that I'm advocating street racing but it makes me think that in a street situation, at normal operating temps, with a good launch, this is now a consistent 14.4-14.5 car. Not too shabby and, "real world", able to kep up with some pretty big dogs.

Goo to hear Rick. Now take those heavy rims and tires off to see what you can do on the lighter setup! I am interested in seeing what kind of times you turn with it.

If your shifts are harsh enough to spin the tires from 1-2 and especially 2-3, isn't that very hard on the transmission? Mine shifts the same way in SST, and it just feels like it is going to break something very soon...

Justin...That's why I backed the line pressure off a bit. It spins 1-2 pretty hard at times with 20-25% over the track tune that ILLS wrote for me. That's on sticky 275's too. Not the best way to make a fast run and hard on the drivetrain for sure.

Racing a go cart? LOL...yeah a big purple and white one. He had a horrible tire shake problem and shut it down. I later watched him run a 4.40 178 mph 1/8th. Wow!

You are correct. That is why it is a good reason to have a slightly more aggressive shifting track tune and a more moderate shifting street tune. Even then the track tune should have snappy shifts but not exactly squawking the tires in every gear.
