first off the car is a 93 with 120k on it and it runs horribly.

symptoms are in order of when i started noticing them

#1@ 3500 rpm car stumbles and misses bad! if you stay in it for a min it clears up a little, but is down on power and misses pops and cracks through the rest of the rpm range. symptom is much worse when the car is cold.
could this be an imrc problem? couls this be bad a coil ?

#2 takes for ever to drop rpm
vacuum leak is the only thing that crosses my mind on this one

#3 stumbles when coming off the line from a dead stop.
I have no idea on this one

#4 throttle response is terrible
tps?

did a koeo diagnostics test a while back. received a code that it was running rich ( amongst many others). i am about to pull it into the shop and do a koeo and koer diagnostic check for codes and will get back to you guys afterwards

things i have done to the car. spring conversion, jmod, ford racing wires, walbro 255, 2.5 inch exhaust with 3rd cat,muffler and resonator delete with 1 xpipe. replaced the plugs last week thinking maybe that was it.

i am heading to orileys to get some map sensor cleaner and a vacuum gauge and going to look and see how much a fuel pressure tester is.

should be on here in an hour or 2 with the codes that pop up

one more thing this car was chewed to pieces by a mouse and i am thinking that it may be a chewed wire or vacuum line. i have visually inspected everything i can think of (or see) and have found no chewed lines


Please Any suggestions would be awesome. you will not be put down for suggesting stupid things. I just need to know where to start looking. I do not want to just start guessing and replacing parts.

koeo these are the codes.111 111 118 118 91 81 189. going to koer check now
 
clean your mass airflow sensor. and replace your TPS. also might be time for a fuel filter. if its still happing, read the codes. also when is the last time you replaced the plugs and wires? might be time for that as well. hope this helps.
 
koer codes are as follows 538 536 632

edit:After seeing what these codes are I think i did the koer test wrong anyone know the proper procedure. (changes page to google search)
 
sorry i forgot mention fuel filter is only 6 mo. old did it with the wires and 1st round of plugs
 
what plugs did you put in? i suggest autolite 764s. not required, but they are known to work well.

check fuel pressure. like 95 up there, fuel filter, you probably need it anyway.

a large vacuum leak will lean you out and give you a high idle. for finding a vacuum leak, people suggest spraying some ether around the intake, if the idle jumps up, you have a leak somewhere in that area.
 
I had very similiar problems as you are describing...disconnect the mafs sensor then drive the car if problems clear up then I would suggest cleaning the sensor or a new sensor...also if you have modified the air intake in any way you may want to look there as well...also make sure you have the wires run correctly I drove around for a week with wires crossed lol.

dude when you get your car running right...Cadilackman, you and myself need to go racing in Bowling Green on a Tuesday night. The track annoucer and the track photographer will go nuts with joy to see the hot rod lincolns of nashville.

we must do that for sure. if either of you guys need a clean dry place to work on your cars shout at me. i live in a big warehouse with a huge shop now. more than welcome to swing by on a weekend.

I could kiss you right now pulled the plug idled a little rough but revved like a champ TYVVVM
 
told you, clean the MAF sensor. or it might need to be replaced. CRC makes a great cleaner for MAF sensors. buy a can then clean the sensor. and see if it continues. :D
 
I have owned this car for over a year now and have never felt its full potential that thing will absolutely haul balls now. I can not find a maf sensor at any parts store must be a dealer only item. but with it unplugged ti is running so rich it sounds like it is hitting a lick. and with the 2.5 inch pipes it sounds sooo sick thanks agian!!!!!!!


anyone in Nashville want to go to union hill next weekend ?
 
i dont know if they still make the MAF for this car. you can find them on ebay. or you might be able to talk to jamie and see if he has one. LOL, i said the same thing when i got my car to 100% its just an amazing feeling. now if i could get my damn sound system working. LOL. also tonight i lost the locking key for my lug nuts... :(

try cleaning the MAF it might just be dirty. and if not, you can always unplug it :D
 
If you think it's running good without the MAF, just wait until you get a good MAF on there. Try the CRC MAF cleaner spray at any parts store...
 
bought the spray will be trying that in the morning if not I will find one in a junkyard tomorrow.
i want tl and 3.73s so bad now

union hill 1/8th mile...beech bend 1/4 and a 1/3rd mile oval yessss....Tuesday night I am all about BeechBend if you want go $10 all the passes you want.

As far as a MAF try cleaning yours first if that doesn't work try EBAY or a junk yard or I am sure someone on here has one for sale...what part of town are you in?
