fairly recently, within the last week, every time i go to start my car it just keeps cranking and trying to start. it will always say Check Advance Trac, and about 50% of the time it says Check Advance Trac and Gear Select Data Error. Any ideas of what this could be? i also got a code recently for a bad O2 sensor and haven't change it yet, could this cause it?

Also when i go to use the windshield washer fluid, the fluid will come out but the wiper won't turn on, what could be causing this also?

Thanks

Year of car and miles?
Exact five character OBD-II code? (There aren't any that actually say an O2 sensor is bad, there are some that say it might be, but there are other things to test for too.)

If you get no ABS warnings, then the AdvanceTrac issue is likely to be the gyro sensor or (more likely) the steering angle sensor. A Ford specific scanner could pull the trouble codes to say which of the two it is.

How old is your battery? Is it the correct one? Have you measured battery voltage?

The gear select error code be the transmission or a failing COP.

i have a 2000 ls v8 sport with just under 143,000 miles

my check engine light didn't come on and wouldn't pull any codes, so i guess i would need ford to diagnosis it so they can screw me out of $100

when i bought the car almost 2 years ago, the guy said it was less then a year old, but honestly i have had a lot of problems with the car dying so i might need a new one.

and since your saying it could be a cop, theres a good chance it could be that since i bought mine from global automotive and they have seemed to fail a lot
