Picked up replacement pads and rotors for front brakes of my 2005 LS. Went to install them and on opening the rotor boxes I find they are less than half the thickness of my old rotors and solid instead of having venting fins in the middle. These are supposedly high performance rotors made by Continental Teves. Did they dive me the wrong ones or is this type of rotor meant to be different. Thanks for your help.

see that's why I bought R1 Concepts rotors...they are the same size (or should be) but then again they aren't installed yet :P

They might be the right ones and with out the vents they might not warp as easy or as fast, but every rotor I have ever seen has the vents in the middle.

NO, they be must exactly the same. They will be the same thickness and the same in diameter. The only difference will be the drilled or slotted. Call them and ask them to send you the right ones.

They have to match, or it won't work and will be unsafe. It sounds like they sent you someone's rear rotors.

Thanks, it certainly did not make any sense to me to have a significantly different thickness as the caliper pistons would be over extended.
